The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro, in cooperation with the International Organization for the Development of Rights (IDLO), with the financial support of the US Embassy in Montenegro, attended by 30 representatives of the ministries of justice, prosecutors offices and courts of Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Republic of Northern Macedonia and Republic of Serbia.
Mr Nikola Saranovic, MoJ General Director, Mr Liubomir Petruljevski , IDLO Coordinator for east Europe and Ana Grgurevic , US Embassy, welcomed the participants, underlining the importance of exchange of experience in legal mutual assistance.
Speakers at the event were Judge Miras Radovic , Milena Becic CEDEM and judge Ms Maria Grazia Benedetti, Deputy Team Leader EURoL2, who held a speech on the judicial cooperation from a European perspective and on the EUROL2 activities to strengthening it, such as the joint activities undertaken by the project together with Ministry of Justice, the Judiciary Training Centre and the Police Academy, in the field of international judicial cooperation. These activities are reflected in the positive comments on the topic provided in the Montenegro Country Report presented by the EU Commission on the 29th May 2019 .
The next workshop within this year’s Regional Forum will be held in the autumn, on the topic of extradition treaty and mutual execution of court decisions in criminal matters.
