17th Sector Coordination Meeting for Justice supported by EURoL 2

PODGORICA, 7th November 2019 – Ministry of Justice held the Seventeenth Sector Coordination Meeting for Justice, supported by EURoL2. The Meeting was an opportunity for the Ministry of Justice and for all the Justice Authorities to  present their activities, needs and areas for possible support and cooperation in the upcoming period, as well as for the Representatives of foreign embassies, international institutions and organizations to share  their projects / activities related to the area of justice. In addition to the representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro, the meeting was attended by the representatives of the Judicial Council, Supreme Court, Prosecutorial Council , Supreme State Prosecution Office, Special Prosecution Office, Centre for Mediation, Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Chamber of Public Enforcement Officers and the Judicial Training Centre and Association of Expert Witness.

Starting from the General Director Ms. Marijana Lakovic-Draskovic, all the Directors of Ministry of Justice and the Montenegrin Authorities provided information on their ongoing activities and room for international support  in justice field.

The participants included the following international organisations and embassies in Montenegro:  Council of Europe Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey, CEPEJ, UNICEF, UNDP, OSCE, IPA/GIZ project representatives, British Embassy Podgorica, US Embassy and the German Embassy;  the attendees provided an overview of their cooperation within the Montenegro justice Institution.

The Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro was represented by Mr. Hermann Spitz , Head of Cooperation Section, who remarked the value of such gathering to promote the coordination and to enhance the efficiency of the  donors activities and underlined the further support of EU Delegation in the next period through new projects.

In their  speeches, all the Montenegrin Representatives expressed, inter alia, appreciation for the contribute offered by EURoL2 in the justice area.
